Today the company employs 25 people, all with a solid banking, financial or accounting background. They work alongside the two partners in pursuit of excellence, the philosophy on which sodi platforms are built.
Founder and partner
In 1974 Pierre Retord began his career at the Bank Ferrier Lullin & Cie where he worked for more than 15 years and obtained his maîtrise bancaire (higher diploma in banking) in 1983.
Although he started out in accountancy, he was quick to discover the job of portfolio manager. He loved the global vision of a client's personal situation and the relationship of trust that grew up between them. In 1984 he set up a new department dealing with independent asset managers and was appointed Senior Vice President.
In 1991, feeling it was time for his career to take a new direction, he left the bank to set up his own asset management company, Sodiprivés. This new experience exposed him to the challenges that face asset managers when they strike out on their own. It was a point that prompted him to set up sodi platforms, a company offering specialized services specifically designed to their particular needs.
In no time at all, this brand new concept became a success with independent asset managers. Pierre Retord started the first platform in 1996. Since 2000, when he went into partnership with Maurice Levy, he has continued the company's development in Geneva and in other jurisdictions.
Maurice Levy has always favoured a global and humanist approach to business analysis. This is why, before entering the world of economy and finance, he first chose an interdisciplinary university path by attending Geneva's Institute of International Studies where he obtained a Master in International Relations in 1993.
In 2000, Maurice Levy won over by the new concept and the company's multi-service offering of the sodi platforms, wnet into partnership with Pierre Retord.
Together they developed the sodi platforms, making them a major player in the field of Swiss independent asset manager. Since 2008 sodi platforms have entered into an international development strategy and can propose their services in multiple jurisdiction.
Since 2014, Maurice Levy is based in Gibraltar in charge of the international development of sodi platforms and all the projects or the group.
